Meet Don Saiter, owner/operator of D&K Marine.
Don's love of boats began at a young age. Growing up, he was neighbors with Dan Cerling, an established marine mechanic. Piquing his interest, Don started pushing a broom and turning wrenches for Dan - and the rest was history.
He started working on boats the year of 1985, at just 13 years old! Pursuit of schooling, training and certifications took him from his hometown of Clinton, Iowa all over the country - from Orange County, California to Kennesaw, Georgia!
Don ran a Yamaha shop for 11 years before taking the plunge and opening his own business in the spring of 2002, located at the Fulton Marina.
In the Spring of 2014 he moved shop to the lovely Camanche, Iowa, which is where he resides today! Don has 37 years in the industry, on full display in the office of his shop. You'll find his many certifications for Volvo-Penta, Yamaha, MerCruiser Stern Drive, Mercury Outboard, and the Amtech Association.
Don's a family man, too. When he's not working in his shop, you'll find him on his houseboat (yes, he even lives on one!), snowmobiling, throwing a bonfire, eating some great chow, enjoying a rare vacation - always with friends and family by his side!
